Events is the branch of ASW that coordinates, plans, and oversees all student events, activities, and programs under the leadership of the Event’s President and Director of Programming. Working with the President and DoP, there are seven individual chairs and eight associate chairs that oversee specific areas and types of events. They are a dedicated group of students who want to provide the students of Westminster College with the best experience possible.

President, Kent Johnson

As Events President, Kent is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all events, activities, and programs for the students of Westminster College and the greater campus community. In programming these events, the President works closely with the Director of Programming and their team, consisting of nine chairs and associate chairs.

Kent is a senior studying Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business and plans to attend medical school after Westminster. Kent loves being a part of ASW because it allows him to interact with students and play a role in helping students have the best college experience possible. When not planning killer events, working in the lab, or overseeing the mentoring programs at Westminster, Kent enjoys skiing, wakeboarding, hiking, and camping in the beautiful Utah mountains.

Director of Programming, Nicole McKenna

As Events Director of Programming, Nicole works with the President in the planning and organization of events and activities throughout the year. Nicole directly oversees the associate chairs of the team but works closely with the entire Events Team.

Nicole is a junior studying psychology and justice studies. She joined the ASW Events team as a freshman and loves it more and more with each passing year. Her favorite part about planning events is seeing the team’s hard work come together to create successful events for Westminster students to enjoy, make new friendships, and create lasting memories. Growing up in a small town in Utah, Nicole loves the Sugar House community and all it has to offer. Mellow Mushroom’s “Thai Dye” pizza and Sugar House Coffee’s chai latte are among her favorite things.
